Thieves ransack Meralco locker room at MOA
The Meralco Bolts have already lost big in their first match at the SM Mall of Asia Arena even before the conclusion of their game against the GlobalPort Batang Pier Wednesday.
Thieves broke into the Bolts’ locker room, stealing away personal valuable items of team members. These include coach Ryan Gregorio’s bag that contained his laptop and other valuables, according to Meralco team manager Butch Antonio.
This is not the first time such an incident has happened in a PBA game, with similar theft happening at other venues such as PhilSports Arena and Cuneta Astrodome.
Several weeks ago, CCTV footage caught a thief stealing a laptop at the press room of the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.
Curiously, the state-of-the-art MOA Arena implements among the strictest backstage security measures toward players, team officials, and reporters compared to other venues.
